All about arrays
Optune delivers therapy through 4 adhesive patches, called transducer arrays. These arrays are applied to your scalp.

How do I place the arrays?
Watch this video for a step-by-step guide on how to apply arrays, or you can read the steps below.
Preparing your skin

1 Shave
Shave your scalp closely with the electric razor provided in your starter kit.

2 Wash
After shaving, wash your scalp with a mild fragrance-free shampoo or dandruff shampoo.

3 Sanitize
Once your head is washed, wipe it using a sanitizing solution.

4 Dry
Make sure your head is completely dry before applying a new set of transducer arrays.
Applying the arrays

1 Gather supplies
Make sure you have 4 (2 black connections and 2 white connections) sealed transducer array packages.

2 Place array with black connector cable
Peel away the liner of a black transducer array. Place it flat on the front of the head according to the transducer array layout map you received from your doctor.

3 Place array with white connector cable
Next, repeat step 2 with the white transducer array, but this time on the side of your head. Ensure the ceramic discs do not overlap with another array’s tape.

4 Place remaining arrays
Place the remaining arrays in the same way as their corresponding colors according to your transducer array layout map.

5 Trim arrays and press firmly
Trim the portion around the edges of the array, if necessary, to securely fit them to the scalp and each other. Then press the transducer arrays firmly to the scalp.
Removing the arrays

1 Gently remove
Gently pull back on the edge of the array to avoid pulling the skin.

2 Loosen the arrays
Unplug the cords from the connector box and step into a warm shower to loosen and remove the arrays. Consider using baby oil to loosen the arrays further, if necessary. These tips come from other Optune users.
“The first time I did it, I was pretty nervous. But I was determined I was going to make it work. After that, I just know where the arrays go and I don’t worry so much about that eighth of an inch or quarter-inch that some people may worry about.” Sherry, Optune user and Patient Ambassador

How often should I change the arrays?
Transducer arrays must be changed at least 2 times per week (one set of arrays should not be worn for more than 4 days at a time). However, more frequent transducer array changes are recommended if:
